FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: assembly of annular magnet features, primarily, cylindrical body of magnet that confines air gap with top and bottom ends. Top and bottom surface plates are arranged at top and bottom parts of annular magnet. Surface plates are made from magnetic material. Said assembly has, in fact, uniform magnetic field running from one of the top ends of said gap and bottom end to opposite top and bottom ends of the gap. Surface plates feature, preferably, high magnetic conductivity. Mass analyser may be arranged in said air gap. Ion generator may be arranged in said assembly of annular magnet. A pair of vertically-assembled annular magnets may be produced. In compliance with the latter version, mass analyser may be arranged in one air gap while ion generator may be located in another air gap. ^ EFFECT: higher uniformity and intensity of magnetic field. ^ 12 cl, 12 dwg |
