PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and light-weight fixing device equipped with an electromagnetic induction coil, which causes neither temperature history nor variation in temperature on a heat roller due to a size of fed paper. SOLUTION: The fixing device causes a current to flow in the electromagnetic induction coil arranged in proximity to an endless member having a metal layer formed of a conductor to make the endless member generate heat to heat a member to be fixed. The electromagnetic induction coil is divided into a plurality of coils in a moving direction and a perpendicular direction of the member to be fixed, and includes: a mechanism for preventing a decline in temperature of the endless member corresponding to joints of adjacent coils of the divided coils; or a mechanism for preventing a decline in temperature of the endless member corresponding to both ends of unit coils that are formed of the divided coils.
