<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure OSNR with accuracy and precision without using an expensive optical spectrum analyzer. <P>SOLUTION: An OSNR measurement device obtains a bandwidth from a splitter for splitting a phase modulation signal that is phase modulation of light received by an optical receiver in accordance with a predetermined bandwidth. Then, the OSNR measurement device obtains a delay amount of time from a delay interference section, and obtains an optical power from an optical detector. The OSNR measurement device also obtains a bit-rate from a discriminator for discriminating signals. Thus, the OSNR measurement device calculates an optical signal-to-noise ratio in accordance with the obtained bandwidth, delay amount of time, optical power and bit-rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
