THE BALLAST WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM USING WASTE HEAT IN ENGINE ROOM

PURPOSE: A ballast water treating system using the waste heat of a ship engine room is provided to reduce energy by sterilizing ballast water using the waste heat of an engine room. CONSTITUTION: A ballast water treating system using the waste heat of a ship engine room comprises an evaporator(10), a compressor(20), a condenser(30), an expander(40), and a heating unit(50). The evaporator absorbs the waste heat of an engine room(100) with and evaporates coolant. The compressor compresses the low-temperature and low-pressure coolant evaporated in the evaporator. The condenser condenses the compacted coolant and emits waste heat. The expander expands the coolant and circulates the coolant to the evaporator. The heating unit absorbs the waste heat emitted from the condenser and heats ballast water in a ballast tank(200).
