A composition for oxidation dyeing of keratinic fibers, especially hair comprises 1,8-bis -(2,5-diaminophenoxy)-3,5-dioxaoctane and/or at least one of its acid addition salts as a first oxidation base (A), at least one other oxidation base (B) and at least one coupler. The second oxidation base (B) is paraphenylenediamine (optionally substituted by N,N-bis-( beta -hydroxyethyl), 2-( beta -hydroxyethyl), 2,6-dimethyl, 2-isopropyl, 2-chloro, N-phenyl, N-methoxyethyl or 2-n-propyl), paratoluylenediamine, 4,4'-diamino diphenylamine, 4-aminophenol (optionally substituted by 2-hydroxymethyl, 3-methyl, 2-aminomethyl, 2-( beta -hydroxyethylaminomethyl), 2-methoxy or 2-methoxymethyl), tetraaminopyrimidine, 4-hydroxy-2,5,6-triamino pyrimidine, 4,5-diamino-1-ethyl-3-methyl pyrazole, 4,5-diamino-N-methylpyrazole, 4,5-diamino-1-(4'-chlorobenzyl)pyrazole, N,N'-bis-( beta -hydroxyethyl)-N,N'-bis-(4'-aminophenyl)-1,3-diamino propanol, 3-amino-6-dimethylamino pyridine or pyrazolo-(1,5-a)-pyrimidines of formula (I): R1-R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, 2-4C polyhydroxyalkyl, (1-4C alkoxy)-1-4C alkyl, 1-4C aminoalkyl (amine being protected by acetyl, ureido or sulfonyl), (1-4C alkyl)amino-1-4C alkyl, di-(1-4C alkyl) amino-1-4C alkyl (dialkyl can form 5-6 membered aliphatic or heterocyclic ring) or (1-4C (di)hydroxyalkyl)amino-1-4C alkyl; X = H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, 2-4C polyhydroxyalkyl, 1-4C aminoalkyl, (1-4C alkyl)amino-1-4C alkyl, di-(1-4C alkyl) amino-1-4C alkyl (dialkyl can form 5-6 membered aliphatic or heterocyclic ring) or (1-4C (di)hydroxyalkyl)amino-1-4C alkyl, amino, ((di)1-4C alkyl)amino, halo, carboxy or sulfonyl; i = 0-3; p = 0 or 1; q = 0 or 1; n = 0 or 1; and provided that p + q is other than 0; that n is 0 and NR1R2 and NR3R4 are on positions (2,3), (5,6), (6,7), (3,5), (3,7) when p + q is 2; n is 1 and NR1R2 (or NR3R4) and OH are on positions (2,3), (5,6), (6,7), (3,5), (3,7) when p + q is 1. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the dyeing of hair by applying the composition described above and developing the color a pH acidic, neutral or alkaline with an oxidizing agent, which is added to the composition before dyeing hair or which is comprised in an oxidizing composition applied separately or combined with the dyeing composition before application; and (2) a kit comprising several compartments, one containing the dyeing composition and a second containing a the oxidizing composition.
