PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical outer layer body of a roller, which suppresses local early wear and rigid degradation.SOLUTION: The cylindrical outer layer body of the roller formed of a urethane resin is characterized in that fine air bubbles enclosed inside are gradually sparser from the center axis toward the outer peripheral face. The cylindrical outer layer body may be applicable for a wire saw, with a plurality of peripheral wire grooves formed in the outer peripheral face. Preferably, no fine air bubbles each having a diameter of 20 μm or larger exist on a surface layer having a thickness of 5 mm distant from the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical outer layer body. Furthermore, the cylindrical outer layer body can be obtained by centrifugal molding of the urethan resin before hardened. The centrifugal molding can be carried out to produce a gravity effect G of 10-3000.
