PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device capable of reducing a manufacturing cost of a panel by removing a transparent electrode composed of an ITO. SOLUTION: The plasma display device is provided with the upper part base board, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a dielectric layer formed on the upper part base board, the lower part base board arranged opposed to the upper part base board, a third electrode formed on the lower part base board, and a barrier rib which is formed on the lower part base board and which partitions a discharge cell. At least one of the first and the second electrodes is formed by a single layer, and at least either one of the barrier ribs to partition the external discharge cell in the effective display region has a larger width than that of the barrier ribs to partition the interior discharge cell in the effective display region.
