A lightning protection mesh for a blade of a wind turbine comprising a first set of wires (12) running in a first direction, and a second set of wires (13) running in a second, different direction. The mesh (11) has at least one tapered end (15, 16) at which wires from at least one of the first and second set of wires run together. The total conducting cross-sectional area formed by the wires (12, 13) in the tapered end (15, 16) is maintained within the tapered end (15, 16), and the wires (12, 13) are bundled at the tapered end to provide an electrical connection to the mesh. |
