PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver and control method thereof in which, in a broadcast download service of program contents utilizing a broadcast signal, the program contents to be downloaded are appropriately selected on the basis of a distribution frequency.SOLUTION: In a broadcast receiver 100, a distribution frequency calculation section 109 uses acquired distribution schedule information to calculate a frequency (distribution frequency) for each of program contents to be iteratively distributed within a predetermined period of time (S202). A program selection section 110 compares the distribution frequency of each of the program contents with a predetermined value X to determine whether to automatically download each of the program contents (S203). An accumulation control section 111 makes control to download the program contents determined to be downloaded via a broadcast signal for accumulation into an accumulation section 112 (S204, S205). |
