PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the head servo control in a simple configuration by preventing the actuator from resonating with the vibrations of the voice coil and motor in a disk drive.SOLUTION: An HDD of this embodiment has one or a number of center frequency-fixed notch filters 232a-232c in its servo control system (servo loop). The notch filters suppress the resonance of the actuator in servo controlling the head. The HDD controls at least one notch filter 232c depending on the radial position of the head slider. Specifically, the HDD enables the notch filter 232c when the head slider is within the specified area on a magnetic disk.
