<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth operation of a seat surface position adjusting member, in a seat constituted so as to move a seat surface by the seat surface position adjusting member in a frontal collision, and to compactly arrange these mechanisms. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle seat includes: a base frame 30; a movable frame 40; a driving force generating member (a second gas cylinder 61) operating in the frontal collision; a power transmission member (a second wire 62) for relatively moving the movable frame 40 to the base frame 30 by transmitting driving force of the driving force generating member between the base frame 30 and the movable frame 40; and the seat surface position adjusting member (a link 43 for a lift) having one end part rotatably connected to the movable frame 40, having the other end part rotatably connected to the base frame 30 and rotated when the movable frame 40 moves to the base frame 30.
