The carpet has a band (2) provided at a periphery of a footrest surface (1). A light source is arranged at an interior of the band. An electric connector (6) is connected to a lighting device. A passage (4) of electroluminescent diodes (5) is arranged in series inside the band. An individual switch (8) controls the lighting device. The carpet is fixed at a floor of a vehicle i.e. car, by the electric connector.
