Disclosed is an ultrasonic diagnosis device provided with an image capturing unit for acquiring an ultrasonic image of a carotid artery portion of a subject, a dividing line calculating unit for setting at least one threshold and calculating a dividing line dividing the ultrasonic image into multiple regions, an intima-media thickness calculating unit for specifying a direction used for searching the multiple regions, searching the intima-media region in the specified direction on the basis of the brightness, drawing multiple curves on the basis of the information acquired by the search and positional information about the carotid artery portion shown in the ultrasonic image, and calculating the intima-media thickness from the distance between the drawn curves. |
