PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scattering of fragments and formation of an opening even if inlet parts are damaged by an external impact. SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor 1 includes an endlessly connected moving body 2, balustrades 3, moving handrails 4, skirt guards 5, the resin-made inlet parts 6A, 6B, and coating materials. The balustrades 3 are vertically installed on both sides of the moving body 2 and support the moving handrails 4 in a movable manner. The skirt guards 5 are arranged connecting to the lower parts of the balustrades 3, and the resin-made inlet parts 6A, 6B are arranged in the ends of the skirt guards. The moving handrails 4 get in/out to and from the resin-made inlet parts. The coating materials are coverlingly attached on the surface of the inlet parts 6A, 6B, and prevent scattering of the fragments when the inlet parts 6A, 6B are damaged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
