<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and a control method appropriately controlling the fuel pressure thereof in connection with the operation stop of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel pressure control device for the internal combustion engine controls the pressure of fuel in a delivery pipe 56 supplying fuel to the fuel injection valve 58 in connection with the operation stop of the internal combustion engine. ECU 76 determines a degree of lightness and heaviness as a property of the fuel based on a detection signal of an air fuel ratio sensor 79, and controls the pressure of fuel by driving a solenoid valve 94 based on determined fuel properties. The ECU 76 controls the fuel pressure lower than that in case of light fuel property when fuel property is heavy, and controls the fuel pressure lower as the fuel property is heavier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
