<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of image quality due to an environmental condition in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; and a developer carrier which develops the electrostatic latent image with developer by abutting on the image carrier. Then, the image forming apparatus is provided with: a temperature and humidity measuring means configured to measure temperature and humidity around the developer carrier; a pressing force switching means configured to change pressing force of the developer carrier on the image carrier; and a pressing force control means configured to allow the pressing force switching means to change the pressing force according to the temperature and humidity measured by the temperature and humidity measuring means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
