PURPOSE: A system for monitoring position of a mobile terminal and a method thereof are provided to automatically inform the dangerous situation of a ward to a protector. CONSTITUTION: In case a location of a first terminal is not changed for a determined time, a service providing server transmits the automatic response request to the first terminal(S207, S209). In case the response of the first terminal is not received, the service providing server determines the sufficiency of the appointed response request frequency(S211, S213). In case the appointed response request frequency is fulfilled, the service providing server transmits the alerting message to a second terminal(S215).
