摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromium-free monolithic refractory for a melting furnace which contains substantially no chromia component to be free from environmental problems and exhibits durability equal to or above that of alumina-chromia monolithic refractory as lining of the melting furnace. <P>SOLUTION: The chromium-free monolithic refractory for the melting furnace comprises 3-28 mass% MgO and 1-10 mass% TiO<SB>2</SB>, uses &ge;3 mass% alumina-magnesia-titania particles containing &ge;95 mass% in the total amount of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+MgO+TiO<SB>2</SB>and expressed by Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-MgAl<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>-Mg<SB>x</SB>Al<SB>2(1-x)</SB>Ti<SB>(x+1)</SB>O<SB>5</SB>or MgAl<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>-Mg<SB>x</SB>Al<SB>2(1-x)</SB>Ti<SB>(x+1)</SB>O<SB>5</SB>(in the formula, (x) is in a range of 0&le;x&le;1) as the main mineral composition and is constituted of 80-99 mass% in total of alumina-magnesia-titania particles and alumina particles and 1-20 mass% binder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
