In order to achieve conversion to a pixel arrangement for the three dimensional display of an image on hardware, an image-conversion device is equipped with a receiving means for receiving a multi-viewpoint image from an image output device as an image signal; a storing means for storing each frame of said multi-viewpoint image received by said receiving means in a storage element; a conversion control means for controlling instructions to convert the pixel arrangement of said multi-viewpoint image stored in said storage element by said storing means to a pixel arrangement for three dimensional display on the basis of preset conversion control information; a conversion means for immediately converting said pixel arrangement using instructions from said conversion control means; and a transmission means for transmitting the image, in which said pixel arrangement has been converted by said conversion means, to a three dimensional display device as an image signal. As a result, the image-conversion device is able to achieve conversion to a pixel arrangement for the three dimensional display of a multi-viewpoint image on hardware.
