<p>The device (7) has a sorting conveyor (18) arranged between feed conveyors (11, 12) and discharge conveyors (21,22). Sum of widths (B1) of the feed conveyors is smaller than width (B2) of the sorting conveyor, and sum of widths (B3) of the discharge conveyors is smaller than the width of the sorting conveyor. Grippers (8, 9) are arranged over the sorting conveyor. Packages (1,2) and/or package assemblies (4a, 4b, 5a, 5b) are positionable on the sorting conveyor such that the packages and/or package assemblies are orientated from the sorting conveyor to the discharge conveyors.
