The device has flat blanks that are folded to form a set of hollow packing cubes (110-180). The hollow packing cubes are articulated between the flat blanks. Each hollow packing cube is connected to pivot at adjacent hollow packing cube by hinges (300) placed on respective adjacent edges of the hollow packing cubes. The hinges include an elastic link forming a loop passing through interior of adjacent hollow packing cubes along the edges. The flat blanks are made up of paperboard or semi-rigid plastic material.
