PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirling engine that can suitably suppress a variation of an output torque when having a plurality ofα-type stirling cycle mechanisms which are coupled to each other via a common rotary shaft. SOLUTION: A stirling engine 10B includes expansion pistons 21 and compression pistons 31. The engine also includes twoα-type stirling cycle mechanisms (two stirling engines 10A) where a crankcase space is pressurized. For each stirling cycle mechanism, the stirling cycle mechanisms are coupled to each other via a common driving shaft 113B so that a torque varying waveform where a cycle per one revolution becomes two cycles is generated. A phase difference between the expansion pistons 21 of the stirling cycle mechanisms is set to be 90 degrees. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
