ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR MARINE VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion system for a marine vessel, which improves a loading capacity of the marine vessel, and can control a vessel speed lower than a dead slow.

SOLUTION: The electric propulsion system for the marine vessel includes: a variable speed engine 2; a synchronous generator 3 power-generated by the variable speed engine 2; a synchronous electric motor 5 or an induction electric motor 6 connected to the synchronous generator 3; and a fixed pitch propeller 7 driven by the synchronous electric motor 5 or the induction electric motor 6.
