An apparatus for mounting wind turbine blades on a tower and hub comprises first and second extendable arms 52 and 54 having a stowed and extended positions are provided on the tower. The arms are operated between the two positions by a load bearing arm actuation mechanism (Fig. 12) or a cable 80 attached to a blade supported on the arms.
