PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation container enabling addition of soil to the upper surface of the container according to the extent of growth of a plant as a cultivation object in a method for cultivating plants, even if filling soil for plant cultivation in the container without previously considering a space necessary for addition of soil when starting plant cultivation. SOLUTION: The plant cultivation container (for instance, a flowerpot 10) to be used for plant cultivation is formed by a side wall part 11 and a bottom wall part 17 and has an opened upper surface. The side wall part 11 is provided with a height size adjusting mechanism (for instance, a slide member 12 and a fixing means therefor) adjusting the height direction size of the flowerpot 10.
