PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, capable of switching the reporting form of a mobile terminal, when a user does not carry the mobile terminal with him. SOLUTION: The communication system 100 includes a notification control unit 164 and an absence-response processing unit 165. In the case where a signal intensity determination unit 163 determines that the signal strength of a radio signal including ID card identification information exceeds a threshold S, the reporting control unit performs control to report the arrival of a call which is received by an incoming-call receiving unit 161 in a first mode by a reporting section 18. When the signal strength determination unit 163 determines that the signal strength of the radio signal including the ID card identification information does not exceed the threshold S, the reporting control unit performs control to report the arrival of the call which is received by the incoming call receiving unit 161 in a second mode different from the first mode by the reporting section 18. When reporting is performed in the second mode by the reporting section 18, the absence-response processing unit performs absence-response processing on an external apparatus that has originated the incoming call.
