PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of substantially reducing users' operation labor and improving convenience. SOLUTION: Operation menu data has a data structure in which a prescribed operation button is allotted to each layer of a hierarchy. A state quantity detection part 43 detects a current position of a vehicle 1, current time, the remaining quantity of gasoline, etc., updates the operation menu data according to results of detection of their state quantities, and updates the content of layer allotment. At this time, the allotment of operation buttons having a greater possibility of being operated is altered to higher layers of the hierarch, and the allotment of operation buttons having a less possibility of being operated is altered to lower layers of the hierarch.
