PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device which can conduct perfect printing corresponding to a plurality of bookbinding patterns and the like.

SOLUTION: An image output method includes: the inputting of image data by a user to the image output device 101 as indicated at a step S501 of a flowchart; the selection of an output mode by the user as indicated at a step S503 thereof on an output mode selecting screen displayed on a monitoring screen 201 by the image output device 101 for selecting the form, size, number of sheets of prints and the like; the successive display of a bookbinding pattern selecting screen by the image output device 101 as indicated at a step S507 under the condition that the selected output mode is a photobook as indicated at a step S505 thereof; and the printing of an image by the image output device 101 under a bookbinding pattern 1 601 as indicated at a step S511 thereof under the condition that the user selects a leave-it chance mode or the bookbinding pattern 1 601 at a step S509, or similarly the printing of an image thereby under a bookbinding pattern 2 701 or a bookbinding pattern 3 801 as indicated at a step S513 or S515 thereof under the condition that the user respectively selects the bookbinding pattern 2 701 or the bookbinding pattern 3 801.
