PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair shampoo composition having an excellent foaming property even on the hair attached with oil contained in a hair grooming agent such as hair wax etc., excellent in washing out the oil and excellent in touch feeling without having stickiness or squeaking feeling after washing. SOLUTION: This hair shampoo composition includes (A) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate salt and/or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether acetate salt, (B) an amidopropyl betaine type amphoteric surfactant, (C) an amide sulfobetaine type amphoteric surfactant and (D) a fatty acid N-methylethanol amide. As desired, (E) a quaternary nitrogen-containing cellulose ether derivative and/or quaternary nitrogen-containing guar gum derivative may be incorporated in the composition.
