PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus timely correcting a prediction value to an appropriate value, the prediction value being used as a reference when performing color registration adjusting inside the apparatus needed when temperature changes in an apparatus. SOLUTION: A prediction table is stored in an NVM 20. Temperature in the apparatus is measured by a temperature sensor 10. When an absolute value of the variation of the temperature in the apparatus is less than a threshold value, registration control adjusting based on the prediction table is carried out. When an absolute value of the variation of the temperature in the apparatus is not less than the threshold value, a registration adjusting patch is formed and displacement quantity is measured. When the measured displacement quantity is far different from the value of the prediction table, the value of the prediction table is corrected to a measured value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
