<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a front visual field in an insertion direction when inserting a side-viewing endoscope apparatus in the body cavity with a simple configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A treatment instrument stand 15 is fitted in a treatment instrument standing space 14 provided at a distal end hard part 3c of an insertion part 3 of a master endoscope 1. A rotary shaft 16 for freely rotatably supporting the treatment instrument stand 15 is mounted with a twisted coil spring 19 so as to maintain a minimal angle position. When a treatment instrument T is inserted, it is directed toward a treatment instrument output port 14a along a guide surface 15a of the treatment instrument stand 15. An insertion port 102 of a slave endoscope 100 presses the treatment instrument stand 15 down to an evacuation position by its rigidity, to be formed at a front end part in the treatment instrument stand space 14, and advances toward a transparent hole 52 mounted with a transparent window 53.
