<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device capable of obtaining sufficient shock resistance, even when only a narrow gap exists on the circumferential side of a moving body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the lens drive device, the sleeve 13 of the moving body 3 holding a lens is supported by an image side spring member 14x. In the sleeve 13, a stepped portion 137x more recessed to an object side than a spring connection portion 13x is formed on the circumferential side of the sleeve 13 from the spring connection portion 13x to which the movable side connection portion 144 of the image side spring member 14x is connected. Therefore, even when a wide gap does not exist on the circumferential side of the moving body 3, a portion of an arm portion 145 is arranged in a gap extended by the stepped portion 137x, because the wide gap exists on the circumferential side of the spring connection portion 13x.
