PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biochemical autoanalyzer enabling highly accurate measurement, even when diluting magnification reduced in the suction amount of a specimen. SOLUTION: There is provided the biochemical autoanalyzer for highly accurate measurement, even when diluting magnification reduced in the suction amount of a specimen. The dilution and analysis of the specimen are performed by a method including first step (1) for discharging a predetermined amount of a diluted solution toward a dilution container from the inside of a pipette, second step (2) for sucking a small amount of air into the leading end of the pipette to form an air gap to the leading end of the internal diluted solution, third step (3) for moving the pipette to a sample container from the dilution container to suck a predetermined amount of the specimen from the sample container through the air gap by the pipette, fourth step (4) for moving the pipette to the dilution container from the sample container to discharge a predetermined amount of the specimen toward the dilution container, and fifth step (5) for moving a container, in which the diluted specimen is housed, to the region between a light source lamp and a light detection unit.
