In the production of tablets of pudding powder comprising a mixture of starchy material, flavouring essence, and sugar, an oil or fat is added to the mixture before tablet formation. The tablets are preferably wrapped, e.g. in waxed paper or metal foil. An example is concerned with preparing a homogeneous mixture of arachis oil and heated sugar, mixing in a preparation of liquid flavouring essence and glycerine, incorporating Indian corn meal and wheat flour, and tabletting the fatty powder so obtained.
