An apparatus and method for mounting a trocar is provided. The apparatus includes a trocar holder, a trocar mount and a connector disposed on the trocar mount. The trocar holder is configured to be dispose in a first environment and the trocar mount is configured to be disposed in a second environment. The method involves separating a first environment from a second environment, connecting the trocar mount to the trocar holder and mounting a trocar to the trocar mount.
