<p>The invention relates to an internal combustion engine that is supercharged by a turbocharger having a compressor (10) that is driven by a turbine rotor (7) supplied with burnt gases on the entire periphery thereof by a single distribution volute (6), wherein said engine comprises two cylinder groups purged by means of two exhaust manifolds (3) giving into one of two convergent nozzles (4) parallel to the inlet direction of the turbine volute (6), respectively, and having adjacent collars (8) with cross-sections equal to that of the inlet (5) of the volute (6), the nozzles (4) being connected to the volute by a convergent conical channel (9) tangential to the volute and having a length being about 3 to 8 times the inlet diameter of the volute.</p> |
