PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely reduce friction between a device and a carton and minimize the occurrence of paper powder by adopting a cylinder system for a folding process performed by a bottom folding mechanism. SOLUTION: In a mandrel for forming the bottom of a carton spread in a cylindrical form, the folding process is performed by pressing a pair of bottom temporarily forming pieces against the bottom of the carton.
