PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample container and a glow discharge spectroscopic analyzer performing glow discharge spectroscopic analysis of a sample requiring treatment in an inert gas atmosphere. SOLUTION: The glow discharge spectroscopic analyzer for performing spectroscopic analysis of glow discharge emission generated between an anode 33 and the sample S includes: a glow discharge spectroscopic analyzer body having the anode 33; and the sample container 1 for storing the sample S, and keeping so that the sample S is faced to the anode 33. The sample container 1 includes: a sample storage body 11 having an opening part 11c, for storing the sample S; a mounting part 11h for mounting detachably the sample storage body 11 on the glow discharge spectroscopic analyzer body so that the anode 33 and the sample S are sealed; and a shutter member 12 for opening/closing the opening part 11c of the sample storage body 11 separated from the glow discharge spectroscopic analyzer body.
