<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in discharging capacity and cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a cathode having a cathode active material, an anode having an anode active material, nonaqueous solvent, and electrolyte salt, the cathode active material is composed of a mixture in which a lithium-cobalt compound oxide added by zirconium and magnesium as shown in Li<SB>a</SB>Co<SB>1-x-y-z</SB>Zr<SB>x</SB>Mg<SB>y</SB>M<SB>z</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(M is at least one kind out of Al, Ti, and Sn, 0<a≤1.1, 0.0001≤x, 0.0001≤y, x+y+z≤0.03) and a lithium-nickel-manganese compound oxide having a layer-type structure as shown in Li<SB>b</SB>Mn<SB>s</SB>Ni<SB>t</SB>Co<SB>u</SB>X<SB>v</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(X is at least one kind of Zr, Mg, Al, Ti, and Sn, 0<b≤1.1, 0.1≤s≤0.5, 0.1≤t≤0.5, v=0 or 0.0001≤v≤0.03, s+t+u+v=1) are mixed at a mass ratio of 51:49 to 90:10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
