<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve distance measuring performance by considering the condition of a vehicle and the environmental condition around the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A distance measuring unit 52 performs distance measurement on the basis of the differential waveform between a reception waveform and a standard waveform held by the system. In that case, when an antenna position changes in accordance with a change in the attitude of the vehicle caused by turning or acceleration and deceleration, or when a radio wave transmission and reception condition changes in the rain, a reflective component of a road surface is removed by a differential waveform correction unit 53 to correct the differential waveform.
