<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to obtain his or her desired retrieval result without being conscious of the setting of retrieval conditions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A printer 13 is provided with: a print engine 26 for printing on a prescribed recording medium on the basis of print data; a controller 21 for accessing to an external retrieval server through a communication network, and for collecting the location of information relevant to print content corresponding to the print data or information relevant to the print content as retrieval result information; and a hard disk 24 in which the retrieval result information is stored so as to be updated.
