<p>PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to get efficient sleep. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an air conditioning part(110), a lighting part(120), an input part(140), and a controller(130). The air conditioning part includes various parts for air-conditioning an indoor space. The lighting part lights the indoor space. An operation signal for the operation of the air-conditioning part and another operation signal for the selection of a sleeping mode are input through the input part. If the operation signal for the selection of the sleeping mode is input to the input part, the controller successively performs a hypnagogue operation, a sleeping operation, and a wake-up operation with the lighting part. In the hypnagogue operation, the sleeping operation, and the wake-up operation, the indoor space is lit at a predetermined hypnagogue light intensity for a predetermined hypnagogue operation time with the light of a predetermined hypnagogue color temperature, at a predetermined sleeping light intensity until reaching a predetermined wake-up time with the light of a predetermined sleeping color temperature or at a predetermined wake-up light intensity with the light of a predetermined wake-up color temperature.</p> |
