COOLING DEVICE FOR RECORDING MEDIUM AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a recording medium, capable of forming an image with sufficient gloss and suppressing problems such as failure and conveyance malfunction. SOLUTION: The cooling device 9 for a recording medium cools a recording medium P on which an image is fixed by heat. The cooling device 9 is equipped with: an endless conveyance belt 26 stretched over a plurality of support rollers 25 and round-traveling to convey the recording medium P; a cooling member 27 in contact with the outer circumference surface of the conveyance belt 26 as well as cooling the recording medium P conveyed on the conveyance belt 26; and a pressurizing member 28 disposed in the inner circumference side of the conveyance belt 26 and pressurizing the cooling member 27 through the conveyance belt 26. The pressurizing region N2 of the pressurizing member 28 to the conveyance belt 26 is controlled to be smaller than the contact region N1 of the cooling member 27 to the conveyance belt 26 along the conveyance direction B of the recording medium.
