<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aminophospholipid-targeted diagnostic and therapeutic constructs for use in tumor intervention. <P>SOLUTION: The surprising discovery that aminophospholipids (for example, phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine) are specific, accessible and stable markers of the luminal surface of tumor blood vessels, is disclosed. Therefore, the invention provides the aminophospholipid-targeted diagnostic or therapeutic construct for use in tumor intervention. Antibody-therapeutic agent conjugates and constructs those bind to aminophospholipids are particularly provided as well as methods of specifically delivering therapeutic agents (including toxins and coagulants) to the stably-expressed aminophospholipids of tumor blood vessels, thereby inducing thrombosis, necrosis and tumor regression. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
