APPARATUS FOR WELDING A PIPE AND METHOD OF WELDING A PIPE BY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A pipe welding apparatus and method are provided to improve welding quality by cooling welding metal using cooling gas. CONSTITUTION: A pipe welding apparatus comprises a welding torch(20) and a gas supply pipe(30). The welding torch forms molten metal in a groove by moving along the groove which is formed in a circumferential direction between first and second pipes(10a,10b). The first and second pipes have first and second welding surfaces(1a,1b). The gas supply pipe is formed in the rear of the welding torch and moves along with the welding torch to provide cooling gas for cooling the molten metal.
