<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-treating agent excellent in the moist feeling of the hair even in the case that the hair is damaged by a hair color treatment, having a good settlement up to the end of the hair and capable of making the uniform feeling to the end of the hair well on touching the hair. <P>SOLUTION: The hair-treating agent is provided by blending a quaternary ammonium salt (I) expressed by general formula (I) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is 14-20C alkyl; R<SP>2</SP>is methyl or 14-20C alkyl; and X is a halogen atom], cetanol and stearyl alcohol, and having a larger blending amount of the stearyl alcohol than that of the cetanol.
