The method involves charging the liquid-vapor with high-pressure during a heat-up phase and with the low-pressure during a cooling phase. The tool is selectively heated within a cycle section, and is selectively cooled within another cycle section. The liquid-vapor is used as a cooling and heating medium (2). The vaporizing medium is ammoniac. An independent claim is included for a device for cycle-dependent heating of an injection molding or thermoforming die for the execution of the method.
