PURPOSE: An apparatus for opening and closing door of an elevator is provided to prevent safety accidents by automatically opening and closing a safety door according to the operation of a cage door. CONSTITUTION: An elevator comprises a cage, and one or more safety doors(12). The cage electrically elevates along a pair of installed rails and comprises the cage door. The safety door is installed to open and close to a frame(11) installed on the upper plate end part of each layer which is near to the elevation route for the cage to elevate. The door opening apparatus of the elevator comprises a motor(13) and a connector(14). The motor is installed in the one-side end of the frame. The connecting device connects the motor and the safety door.
