<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting device, which stably rotates a rotor, independently controls the rotation of the rotor and is adopted to a practical knitting machine, a knitting machine, a rotor and a knitting method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The knitting device includes the rotor 2 equipped with a rotating shaft 3 and a bearing 12 for slidably supporting the peripheral surface of the rotating shaft 3. Consequently the rotor 2 is stably rotated. A knitting yarn is driven into an engagement recess 6 and latched, and loops necessary for knitting are formed by utilizing the rotational motion of the rotor 2. The knitting method includes passing a second engagement recess 6 in an old loop while forming a new loop in a state in which a first engagement recess 6 forms the old loop by the rotational motion of the rotor 2. The knitting yarns forming the loops each pass the outsides of both ends of the rotating shaft 3 and the old loops escape from the first engagement recess 6 to perform knitting.
