<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device which can perform wireless communication of high wave reception sensitivity with user's operations eliminated as much as possible. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal device includes: a housing; an antenna housed in the housing so as to be freely pulled out; a pull-out mechanism that pulls out the antenna from within the housing in accordance with an instruction to pull out the antenna; and an instructing section that gives the instruction to pull-out the antenna to the pull-out mechanism in accordance with a prescribed event for communicating functions. When the prescribed event for communicating functions is performed, the instruction to pull out the antenna is given to the pull-out mechanism to automatically pull out the antenna from within the housing.
